Deck Plugs
Ensure the beauty of your
deck!
Used for hiding fasteners
in exterior decks and sidings, or as a complimentary color in hardwood floor
applications. An effective alternative to undermount or bisquit types of deck
installations.

Face Screw / Plug
Method:
Countersink 3/8" holes into face of deck boards, approx. 1/4” deep.
Pre-drill 1/8" pilot holes (or 9/64” if utilizing the recommended Swan Secure #7
trim-head stainless steel screws) completely through the deck boards. Drill bits
are available that will both pilot and countersink in one bit. Screw the deck
boards down with stainless screws. 3/8" plugs are then glued into the holes with
waterproof glue (i.e. Gorilla brand glue, Marine Adhesive / Epoxy, etc.). Plugs
are then knocked off with a chisel and sanded smooth with 80 grit sandpaper. A
round orbit sander works well.
Obtain
complete installation instructions for your particular specie, prior to
installation of your deck boards.
